WHO WE ARE

Southern Black Arts Council is a nonprofit arts advocacy and education organization. We deeply believe that the arts possess the power to elevate living and learning experiences of those overlooked and mired down by societal strictures. Our aim is to bring the arts to schools and communities in our nation that lack fine arts education.

We contract dancers, visual artists, singers, musicians and writers to share their craft and skill with young minds, budding learners and intrigued audiences. Our work will rewrite the outcomes of the lives of hundreds of young black and brown, low income and marginalized people through sharing the mastery of black and brown artists.

OUR MISSION

To unveil the fine arts to low income and minority communities,

through diverse arts education programs and performances.
