Southern Black Arts returns to

Artlink's annual Artsville Festival in Downtown Clarksville.

Featuring local business, renonwned and emerging artists and community organizations and more, this event is for all ages. Be sure to come out and hear more about what we do!

We are excited for our special community performance choreographed and coordinated by our Artistic Director, King Alvarado.

Southern Black Dance Theatre will film their recent works featured in the Spring show, Dripping Black Honey, an ode to the women who have come before us and the women to follow. This production was inspired by the work of Nashville artist MegPie and her 2023 Spring exhibit.

This was the 2nd production of Southern Black Dance Theatre, a subsidiary performance ensemble, performed in Nashville, TN. It features Southern Black Arts' student artists, internationally recognized musicians and the creative work of local, Nashville choreographers.

Southern Black Arts will host our second Winter Soiree fundraiser, with hopes of reaching our goal of $5000. The proceeds fund our annual Summer Arts Academy and our Arts for Students program, which hosts workshops in schools with a high minority population or WITHOUT an arts education programs.

The evening will feature performances from students and local artists in support of our aims to bridge the gap in arts education.

Our Art + Community program is hosting its 2nd Annual Summer Arts camp in Clarksville, TN.

June 2 - 14, young artists will attend dance, theatre, music and drawing classes for two weeks. We will venture the city to learn about artists from Clarksville who have left a significant impact on the local and national arts community.

We have teachers from all arts disciplines sharing their knowledge and passion with our students. Registration opens October 31.
